We began in 2021 as mother/daughter hand-made business as a way to help my daughter control her anxiety instead of her anxiety controlling her during the pandemic.
We realized during the isolation that she needed an outlet and a place to create. She needed people and social interaction. A place to unplug and connect.
As a mother, I felt alone and unsupported. I missed this section in prenatal training and nursing school. It is not a typical discussion at dinner parties, school functions or moms groups. What is a mother to do? How do I help her? Can I help her?
These BIG FEELINGS are MESSY and who better to help contain the MESS than others like us??
Faith wanted to help others like her the same way she was helped- through creative arts.
Thus, Our Daily Gnome was born and in April 2022 we opened the Creative Arts Center. In February 2023, her dream was realized further as we became a 501(c)3 Non-profit organization to continue helping kids like her.
Our Mission in a nutshell is we are kicking anxiety with creativity as Faith likes to say.
Faith's ultimate vision is to have a large mushroom shaped building that is fun and whimsical so kids won't be scared to come in. So they will look forward to coming and will be open to learning more.
She envisions classes and crafting areas on the first floor and therapy rooms and art gallery on the second.
A place that feels safe and non-threatening. A bridge between the gap of home and therapy.
As a supportive and preventative means of enhancing children’s mental health awareness, acceptance, and wellness, our mission is to use the creative arts to activate healing, spark creativity, foster learning, empower individuals, and cultivate community connections. By offering a range of creative artistic activities and programs, we aim to empower children, promote self-expression, and enhance their overall well-being. Or more simply put- we are Kicking Anxiety with Creativity!
We envision empowering youth and adults to reach their full potential by bringing their voices forward to be heard, seen, and appreciated by the community through innovative and creative arts programming. We see art as a catalyst for releasing trauma, fostering resilience, and sparking social change. Individuals can be heard and respected when they create art in a safe community, replacing anxiety, depression, violence, and shame with safety and hope.
We believe in empowerment through creativity and work to build a framework that helps people find their voice, their strength, and their resilience, thus instilling hope in the future.
We create a respectful space that is free from harm and judgment and inspires hope.
We recognize the power of creativity and its undeniable impact on propelling people forward in life. We believe everyone has the right to be creative and try new things.
We appreciate the diversity and complexity of people's identities, perspectives, circumstances, and experiences.
We are firm believers that collaboration improves our ability to learn and brings about positive changes in the community.
